A mere 100 km southeast of Whitehorse, there is Little Atlin Lake and White Mountain Inn. The Inn is at the bottom of White Mountain, neatly embedded in the woods and therefore sheltered from the wind, only 300 meters from the lake.

The White Mountain is a wonderful place to hike. An incredible view is the reward for the ones that make it up the hill – even half way. From Marsh Lake to the north, Tagish in the West or Atlin Lake to the south, with the snow covered Coastal Mountains south of Atlin, it’s well worth the effort. With some luck and patience, one might even see the rare Mountain Goats and other wildlife.

The Lake invites for a paddle or to cast a line. A variety of fish are waiting for you: Pike, Trout, Grayling and Whitefish. Pristine Wilderness stretches on the other side of the lakes, woods and mountains, as far as one can see. The impressive, most amazing call of the loons can often be heard, cutting through the stillness of the land.

The endless boreal forest is a treasure chest for the ones looking for the wild things. These woods are the habitat of a wide range of wildlife. An unbelievable variety of plants, berries and mushrooms awake botanical interests.

You may also want to visit the town of Atlin, also called little Switzerland. It is only about a one hour drive from our Inn and worthwhile the time. Atlin has a population of only 300. It is neatly located in a bay of Atlin Lake which is over 100km long and stretches all the way into the coastal mountains.

Would you like to try quilting or are you already hooked with building quilts? Our studio is available for the beginner and the experienced quilter. By reservation we can also organize quilting workshops.

But that’s not all. Golfing, kayaking, river rafting, biking, railway tours, horseback riding, dog sledding are all activities that can be done in the Southern Yukon. Whitehorse is less then a one hour drive away and has some nice shops and a huge sport arena including an indoor pool. Ask us and we will gladly help you line up your activities.
